Baltimore Racing Development's Mission for Business And Community Outreach

1) Study and project the impact of traffic interruption and noise from the Grand Prix on the surrounding communities and businesses of Baltimore.

2) Employ a comprehensive Traffic Management plan to minimize inconvenience caused by street closures.

3) Use the latest technical advances to reduce noise and lessen its impact on Baltimore communities and businesses.

4) Develop a comprehensive plan to ensure seamless accesses for patrons and deliveries to the Baltimore business community.


Baltimore Racing Development Schedule of Community and Business Outreach

1) September 2009: Meet with all communities in District 11 to inform and educate on the possible impacts from the Grand Prix. Incorporate additional concerns of community and business into traffic and noise studies.

2) November 2009: upon completion of studies meet with communities and business and provide detailed information on potential impact and begin to incorporate a mitagation package in concert with community leaders.

3) Summer of 2010: BRD to sponsor community Block Parties to give each community the opportunity to meet BRD principals and staff as well as Indy Car Series personnel and drivers.

4) Fall of 2010: develop the Indy Car series school program to increase interest in math and science by incorporating participation of the Indy Car Series and Indy Car Series drivers within Baltimore City Schools
